Level 2 vs Level 3-4 Computer Vision Engineers

Many engineers are stuck in the late-beginner stage. This is the stage where you know a lot of image processing, can even work with Deep Learning, and has been through all the fundamentals, and face a sudden "I'm not sure what to do from here to be expert".

Maybe you've gotten started already, built your first CNN with Keras, trained backpropagation, ran your first YOLO object detectors, and ran a few segmentation or other advanced GitHub repos.

But how do you go on from here? How do you do what they really do inside companies? At this stage, what you need will be skills like 3D Computer Vision, Transformers, advanced Deep Learning, and other skills like video processing.

There are 3 core skills to build in order to go from a Level 2 ("I got started, I'm stuck") to a Level 3 ("I'm progressing to expertise"):

  • Strong Deep Learning: In particular CNNs, Pyramidal Blocks, DL Modules, and vision tasks like segmentation, occupancy prediction, and more...
  • 3D Computer Vision & Geometry: What most engineers don't get right. Geometry IS the most important skill in Computer Vision; especially when mixed with the former.
  • Video: What separates the standard engineers from those working with next-gen pipelines such as Video Foundation Models and real-time computer vision.

Let me show you 3 courses that teach these approaches.
